Watch Randy in 1952-1964:
(15:19) Randy passed on January 4th. In memory of the unique spirit he was, I’ve posted these video segments that feature Randy in the converted from 8mm film Luke Family Home Movies. The background music comes to us from the chart topping songs of 1965-1966, Randy’s senior year at High High School.
You’ll see the personality that has persisted through his whole life. Yes, he was always like that.
Luke Family Home Movies with Narration:
(48:52) The converted from 8mm film home movies recorded in the 50’s and 60s. They are silent but narration has been added to this version along with subtle background music.
It’s hoped that narration clarifies timeframes and context to help those who weren’t involved better understand what they are watching.
While much growth and many important things have transpired since the 50’s and 60’s, these movies show the foundation for life that Henry and Joy built for the five of us. The theme in these movies illustrates that foundation which became our “Springboard to a great life!”
(48:52) The same converted home movies as above, but with the narration deleted so only the background music provides any sound. (for those who have already watched the narrated version and may be tired of listening to me).
It is hoped that our kids, grandkids and great grandkids watch these from time to time to really understand where their parents/ grandparents came from.
As parents themselves, they too can build an environment for their kids that is a “Springboard to a great life!”
Mom, Dad, Kevin & Randy:
(2:57) The is the In Memorium segment that was added to the end of the Luke Family Home Movies in 2024, remembering those we have lost, to which Randy has been added.
Since it it is the ending segment of the old home movies, it focuses on the years covered in those films (’52-’64)
It is accompanied by the 2011 version of Over the Rainbow sung by that big guy Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwoʻole
Randy leads the Ho!Ho!Ho! dance: (2:50) At the 1985 Family Christmas party Randy gets all the grandkids (cousins) to participate (quite enthusiastically) in this fun dance. I know Randy liked this video because he once called me from work asking me how to find it online so he could show it to a client and friend who were in his office with him.
It’s a great reflection of his inherently goofy personality. You’ll have fun watching it, especially if you were one of the eight participants way back then.
